Cozumel, the largest island of the Mexican Caribbean, is the cradle of the goddess of love and fertility, Ixchel. But it is a Mayan legend, someone might say. What is certain is that by just knowing the streaks of light and beach, as welll as the luminous marine mantel and wild fruit that grow in Cozumel, history confirms that it is an island worthy of gods.

Each year on average of 600 cruisers arrive at the island.

Cozumel is the capital of skin diving. Specialists from all over the world meet here, due to the marine attractions that exist in the surroundings of the island. The Palancar Reef, the second largest in the world and also a national park, was proclaimed by world famous Jacques Cousteu as one of the best places for skin diving in the whole world.

During the 17th and 18th centuries, Cozumel became a favorite hideout for pirates, who ambushed and sunk many cargo ships off of the island's shores. Consequently, divers love the ocean floor surrounding Cozumel. The many ships and colorful reefs provide a diving experience unlike any other in the world.
