Being Mexico, everything is subject to change...but, the above prizes are currently published by the Club for this Tournament. We are in constant contact with the tournament committee and will be updating this page as the information develops and finalizes. Both the principals of Mazatlan GOLF Express and Cabo GOLF Express played in this tournament in years past and have enjoyed it considerably. (Neither of us won closest to the pin, however.)
The entry fee for the tournament is $350 US for men and $300 US for women. The entry fee includes two practice rounds at the course. We might mention here that you should consider the following schedule and plan to have your practice rounds on Sunday and Monday, as there will be insufficient sunlight that time of year to finish 18 holes if you start after 2:00 pm in the afternoon:
Sun 11/01/98 - Practice Day and check-in
Mon 11/02/98 - Practice Day, Check-in closes for Women, D and E Flights at 1:00pm, Welcome Cocktail and Calcutta for Tuesday/Wednesday Players in the evening.
Tue 11/03/98 - Women and D and E Flights Play.
Wed 11/04/98 - Same as Tuesday. Check-in closes for remaining flights at 1:00pm. Calcutta for Thursday/Friday Players in the evening.
Thu 11/05/98 - Higher Flights Play
Fri 11/06/98 - Same as Thursday. Casino Night for all tournament participants at the Clubhouse at 8:00pm.
Sat 11/07/98 - Top 12 (or top 25%, whichever is greater) From Each Flight Play for Trophies - Awards Banquet in the Evening at 7:00pm at the Clubhouse.
Nonplaying women have a program of events which include breakfast at the clubhouse on Tues, Wed, Fri and Sat, Mexican cooking class, city and historical tour, champagne brunch and fashion show on Thurs and a miniature golf putting contest.
You can plan on about 300-350 players for the tournament. All play
for the trophies is gross within your flight (women's trophies are net
within your flight) and the handicap spread in the flights is reasonably
narrow. All play for the calcutta is within your flight with full handicap
or a percentage of handicap (to be determined at the tournament). You will
need a current GHIN or Southern California Handicap card to present when
you register at the course.
